Optimize fulfillment by adding default label settings.
The label settings page gives you the ability to add signatures and letterheads, set default service levels, and more.
Set default service level
If you use a custom service level or rate sheet that isn't authorized for label printing, you can set a default service level that can be used during bulk printing. This setting will only apply to orders that do not have a valid label-supported service level associated with them. Order with valid service levels will utilize those service levels.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to Default service level.
Select a service level.
You can only choose services that you currently have enabled.
Click Save label preferences.
Set your default label size
Setting a default label size will have all labels print with that size.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to Label size.
Select a size.
Click Save label preferences.
Set your default label size
Setting a default label size will have all labels print in that format.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to File docType.
Select a format.
Click Save label preferences.
Upload your letterhead
To upload your company letterhead and have it appear on the commercial invoice, follow the steps below. Letterhead upload is supported for FedEx and DHL. This letterhead will also be used on commercial invoices generated by Zonos in the event a carrier does not generate one.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to Letterhead.
Click Upload.
If you are a FedEx customer, check the box next to "Add image to FedEx account".
If you are a DHL customer, check the box next to "Print this logo on DHL commercial invoices". See the note below before enabling this.
Choose the file from your computer, then click Upload.
Your letterhead must be a PNG under 2 MB. Zonos scales it for you, so it does not need to be a specific size.
Already uploaded a letterhead?
The carrier checkboxes only appear while you are uploading, so an existing
letterhead cannot be switched on for a new carrier in place. To add a carrier to
a letterhead you already uploaded, click Remove, then upload the same file
again with the boxes you want checked.
Print your logo on DHL commercial invoices
DHL can print your logo on the commercial invoice it generates for your shipment. Enable it from the Letterhead upload described above, by checking Print this logo on DHL commercial invoices.
If you already have a letterhead uploaded, for example for FedEx, click Remove on it first and upload the same file again with the DHL box checked. The carrier checkboxes only appear during upload, so there is no way to add DHL to a letterhead already on file.
The logo also prints on the DHL shipping label
DHL does not offer a way to apply the logo to one document and not the other, so
enabling this brands both the commercial invoice and the shipping label on
every DHL shipment. If you only want your logo on your paperwork, leave this off.
Letterhead only — DHL does not support signatures
DHL accepts a single image per shipment, and Zonos uses it for your
letterhead. Signatures cannot be sent to DHL, so the DHL option only appears on
the Letterhead upload, never on Signature. Signature upload remains
FedEx only.
Remove your letterhead. Go to Letterhead and click Remove. Zonos stops sending the logo to DHL straight away, and your next label prints without it.
Removing the letterhead removes it everywhere, not only for DHL. It will also stop appearing on FedEx commercial invoices and on commercial invoices that Zonos generates. There is currently no way to keep your letterhead for FedEx while turning it off for DHL, so contact support if that is what you need.
Set commercial invoice currency
Control which currency appears on your commercial invoices.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to Commercial invoice currency.
Select one of the following options:
Order currency (default) — Uses the buyer's original transaction currency.
Origin currency — Uses the currency of your shipping country.
Click Save label preferences.
Previously, UPS and DHL automatically overrode the commercial invoice currency to USD, and FedEx converted it to the destination country's currency. With this setting, the selected currency is used consistently across all carriers. No action is required — existing accounts default to Order currency.
Upload your signature
To upload your signature and have it appear on the commercial invoice, follow the steps below. Please note that we only support signature upload for FedEx at this time. This signature will also be used on commercial invoices generated by Zonos in the event a carrier does not generate one.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Go to Signature.
Click Upload.
If you are a FedEx customer, check the box next to "Add image to FedEx account".
Choose the file from your computer, then click Upload.
Signatures are not supported for DHL
DHL accepts a single image per shipment, which Zonos uses for your letterhead,
so there is no DHL option on this upload. To put your logo on DHL commercial
invoices, use
Print your logo on DHL commercial invoices
instead.
Ship dangerous goods automatically (DHL)
If you regularly ship dangerous goods with DHL, you can have Zonos declare them on your labels automatically instead of selecting a category by hand on every label.
When this setting is on, label creation reads the dangerous goods category from each product's catalog tag and applies the matching DHL value-added service to the shipment.
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Labels.
Turn on Ship dangerous goods.
Click Save label preferences.
Tag your products first
This setting only takes effect for products that carry a DANGEROUS_GOODS
attribute in your catalog, and it applies to DHL shipments only. Tagging is
done through the API—see
tag a product as dangerous goods.
If a product is not tagged, you can still declare dangerous goods by hand when
creating the label.
